Story
Freddie Jack Orton, wonderful Son to Gemma and Dave and inspirational big brother to Harry, died peacefully on 15th July 2022.
The Bodie Hodges Foundation has been close to Dave and Gemma's hearts for many years. The BHF are a charity who support families bereaved of a child in Leicester, Leicestershre and Rutland. Freddie enjoyed talking part in fundraising and learning how his incredible Mummy and Daddy raised so much money and awareness for the charity. As a family, they now need the Bodie Hodges Foundation's help more than ever.
In honour of Freddie, I will be raising donations for BHF by completing a "Virtual Everesting" challenge. I've included a link below to explain in detail what this means, but in short this entails riding my "smart" spin bike up a mountain repeatedly until I've achieved 8,848m of elevation gained - the height of Mount Everest.
I'm sure I am not the only one who has struggled for words.
Dave and Gemma - you have been rocks to so many of us through the years - it's now our turn to be there for you. I hope this is one small way of supporting you and others through the beautiful Freddie.
Love you all x
These words below from Dave and Gemma are the most beautiful tribute. I will always try to BE MORE FREDDIE.
"Freddie, we couldn’t be anymore proud of you as our son; your kind and caring nature, that huge wide smile that you brought in to every room, for the love and guidance that you showed to your little brother, for the way you made all your friends feel happy when they were around you (and my goodness, we have discovered that you have tons of them!). From the moment you were born, you had a special twinkle in your eye. You were and will continue to be our everything and whilst our hearts break every single day at the thought of never holding you again, we promise we will use your strength and courage to keep putting one foot in front of the other for you and your little brother, Harry. We said it when you were here and it’s even more fitting now …. BE MORE FREDDIE. We love you with every bit of us. Shine bright our beautiful boy. Forever and always, Mummy and Daddy xxxx”
