Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
This Christmas, I will be hiking through the terrain of Madagascar in order to raise money for Focus Humanitarian Assitance Europe. FOCUS is an international group of agencies providing emergency relief, principally in developing countries. For example, in March 2004, Cyclone Gafilo rendered more than 200,000 people homeless in Northern Madagascar. Responding to urgent needs, FOCUS transported provisions, educational and health care support materials by truck, boat and helicopter to some of the most remote and affected regions.
The challenge I will be undertaking consists of 6 days of hiking through a multitude of terrain for an average of 6-8 hours per day. We will be situated at Isalo National Park, in the south of Madagascar, and will be camping at different locations within the park.
As I have to raise £3000 for this good cause, please be generous and donate as much as you can!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: FOCUS Europe will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
For those of you who would like to give an offline donation, please email me at aliyah.karim@gmail.com.
Thanks so much for your help - it will be greatly appreciated by those less fortunate in the developing world, FOCUS Europe and myself!
