Story
Thank you so much for sponsoring me! On June 19th, I set off from Clapham Common and cycled 56 miles to the beautiful Brighton seafront. And yes, I cycled every hill without stopping including the mighty monster that is Ditchling Beacon. I was spurred on to keep going by the support of so many friends, colleagues and family. I don't think I'd have beaten the Beacon without you behind me, so to speak. Thank you all!
Pre ride blurb...here's how I felt beforehand...
On June 19th I'm going to cycle from London to Brighton and raise lots of money for charity. Well that's the theory...
I did this feat in 2010 after loads of training and many enthusiastic days out on my bike to make sure I could stay the distance. This year, all manner of unexpected obstacles got in the way of preparation and I'll be lucky if I make it out of London before running out of puff.
But it's for a very good cause and I am not going to give up before I start so can you please help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation? Just a small amount of money can make a big difference. Please sponsor me today.
Heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK and it can impact on anyone. Most people know someone who suffers with a heart condition. My Nan died from heart disease and I cycle in her memory. The British Heart Foundation is working to find new ways to prevent heart disease and lessen the damage for future generations.
