Story
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Having had an Aortic Root Replacement in 2013 and then a heart attack in 2014 I felt I needed to help. The Challenge is magnified as I also suffer from chronic fatigue - so fulfilling a bucket list activity whilst raising money for the BHF seemed a perfect way to challenge both myself and help others. I'll be playing the Golf Monthly UK & I Top 100 courses between 2020 and 2022 due to the lockdowns incurred during the Covid pandemic.
I'm covering all costs for travel and accomodation and I'll be contributing a minimum of £50 for each course I play to the Charity (depending on the Green Fee for each course). I hope that those courses in the Top 100 will help me to play at minimum cost, maximise income and help me to reach my fundraising target.
The Challenge involves me playing 22 courses in Ireland, 4 in Wales 24 in Scotland and 50 in England so it's going to be a busy two years.
Coronavirus has affected my travel plans with an enforced break from March through to August. I did however hold two Golf Days at Close House Golf Club in July 2020 and in 2021 and raised £7,000 for the Challenge.
During the lockdown I've also been running the "Top 100 Heart Quiz" which has it's own JustGiving Page to raise funds. I ran 40 quizzes if my own with four quizzes being run by guest quizmasters!
Sadly we also lost my lovely Mum who passed away in May after battling bone marrow failure for three years. We opened a JustGiving Page in her memory called "Remembering Rosalind" which also supports the work of the British Heart Foundation. I have managed to raise over £2,000 via the two sites which is a great effort.
BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease, such as myself, in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people still lose their lives.
Please give what you can to help me hit my target and don't forget about Gift Aid.
Many thanks!
