Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Swimming, and in particular outdoor, or 'wild' swimming, is one of my passions, and after much persuassion I have decided to combine my passion with fundraising for a very good cause.
One of the biggest challenges, and possibly the most well known challenges, that outdoor swimmers want to tackle is swimming across the English Channel - and so that is what I have set my sights on achieveing.
It's a massive task to swim from England to France - it's approximately 22 miles across one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, and so my first attempt is going to be as part of a relay team in the sumer of 2014.
Our team - me and another 5 intrepid adventurers - will be starting from the White Cliffs of Dover, and will each be swimming an hour at a time until we reach the beaches of France.
It will take us between 14 and 18 hours to complete depending on tides, currents, weather (and jelly fish!).
This swim is part of the Diabetes UK Channel Swim Relay 2014, and so I would really love it if you would consider sponsoring me to complete this challenge. The money I raise will go towards supporting the work of Diabetes UK - you can find out more about their work here: http://www.diabetes.org.uk/
