Story
Hello!
You have successfully navigated your way to my fundraising page, which was the hard part... The easy part is all that's left and that is parting with your hard earned cash to make a donation to a very worthy cause!
That cause is The British Paralympic Association. Full details of the great work they do can be found on the link to their web page over on the right but as an overview the BPA are the charity that supports British athletes through each Paralympic Games. In 2008, the ParalympicsGB team had their best ever Paralympic Games, and are now counting down to the home Games in London 2012. The BPA have one chance to ensure that Britain’s Paralympians receive the best possible preparations to compete, and win, against the rest of the world in front of the home crowds. Through these performances they have one opportunity to inspire change in the way people think, feel and behave towards disability and inspire a new generation of disabled people to get in to sport, but they need help to provide the world class support British disabled athletes need.
And so apart from this great cause, what other reason is there to part with your money?! Well, along with several hundred other cyclists I will be taking part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain this September. This is a ride from Lands End to John O'Groats, taking in around 20,000 metres of ascent over a 960 mile course completed over 9 days.
And so the hope is that my personal pain and suffering along with a great cause will spur you on to donating as generously as you can.
