Alistair Garner is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young
In memory of Jim Garner
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

On 4th July, I am taking part in Ironman UK in memory of my dear brother Jim, who passed away 17 years ago from sudden cardiac arrest. I am aiming to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (www.c-r-y.org.uk), who aim to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of young people, as I believe appropriate screening may have saved Jim's life.

The Ironman event consists of:

2.4 mile swim

112 mile bike ride

26.2 mile run

..and to make things worse its in Bolton, and it's almost guaranteed to rain. You can track my progress, or lack thereof at:

BIB number: 1048

Any donations, however small, would be greatly appreciated.
