Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for letting me share my story with you.
I would be grateful if you would consider supporting me on my greatest challenge ever - running 26.2 miles (with asthma?!) to support a cause very close to my heart. Any spare change, donations, or fundraising you can give to support me to raise my £2,000 target would be incredible. However make sure you tick the gift aid box - it is free for you to do so, and means that your donation will be topped up by 25% by the UK tax payer!
I was introduced to St Catherine's Hospice in early 2015, when my grandmother Ailsa bravely battled with cancer. When she eventually lost her battle on 22nd March 2015 at St Catherine's Hospice, she was in so much pain with an ulcer having consumed one half of her face, leaving her almost blind in one eye, unable to eat and drink properly and weighing under 7 stone. The memory of her suffering is still a difficult one to bear, but thanks to St Catherine's we had the expert 24 hour care that she so desperately needed meaning that when she finally left us she did so having been so well cared for, loved and very comfortable.
The care and kindness that the staff at St Catherine's showed her throughout her stay, and to my grandfather after her passing, is more than anyone could wish for their loved one. Therefore I have decided to use my ballot place for the London Marathon 2017 for St Catherine's Hospice. Every training run, every dark night and early morning, and every difficult step will be worth it if I can raise as much money for St Catherine's Hospice as possible. So that other families like mine, are able to receive the same care and support that my grandma received during her final days with us.
Thank you so so much for all of your support. I look forward to seeing you at the finish line....
