Story
My name is Alison, and I have swapped my home comforts to live in a glass box for 50 hours at the Tesco Extra store in Burnley.
I entered the 3m x 2m box at Noon on Thursday 15th June 2017, and if successful, will leave here at 2pm on the Saturday.
So why a glass box?
Some parents of autistic children that we support have likened autism to 'living in a glass box'; a sense of isolation, being starred at from all directions, experiencing difficulty in communication and struggling to understanding another persons emotions, are often associated with the condition.
Please support!
Staff and volunteers from Caudwell Children will support me throughout my 50 hour challenge, so if you would like to know more about autism and how the charity supports families, please pop down for a chat.
You can donate here on just giving, or from your mobile. Text: LIFA60 £amount 70070.
Autism Awareness
At Tesco Extra Burnley we are proud to support so many local charities, organisations and causes, and recently launched the 'Quiet Hour' in-store to help autistic children and their families enjoy a shopping experience more sympathetic to their specific requirements. Ask at Customer Services for more details.
Thanks for reading about my challenge and please support if you can.
Thank you!
Alison
