Story
Every year I watch the London marathon and cry as the non elite runners cross the line. It seems such an impossible achievement. I am sure I will be sobbing when I cross the line.
I have spent my 50th year saying "yes" to every challenge laid down. I have travelled around the world by myself, jumped out of an airplane at 12,000 feet and I'm swimming 5 miles down Coniston in September. When Lesley invited me to enter the London Marathon with her, I just said "yes". So here we are.
I am running for Help the Hospices, honestly because they got back to me first, but I am really happy to support them as I have seen the wonderful care they provide. As I run, I am sure I will be remembering Carol, a much missed friend, who spent her last days in the local hospice. I will also remember my Mum, whose efforts contributed to opening the Hospice in Brentwood.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Your sponsorship will encourage me to keep up the training - especially at mile 8 when my brain says "what are you doing- this is mad". Here's the technical bit.
