Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of my friends know my father passed away on Saturday 25th January 2014, only 6 weeks before, we had been given the devastating news that he had terminal cancer.
Not once did my father complain about being in pain or ever speak about what was to come. He just got on with the job in hand like he always did - never saying why me or upsetting the family.
My father was admitted to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on Wednesday 15th January 2014 - and we could not have asked for more. The nurses looked after him with the up most care and dignity that you could ask for when someone is facing what he was, they always chatted and laughed with him right up till the end.
This is why I, along with my friends Simon Jackson and his wife Shannon are Walking the Wight this year - as I would like to give a little back to them - as they heavily rely on donations and volunteers to help out, so it frees up nurses to spend more precious time with the patients.
We will be walking the 2nd leg which is 14 miles from Carisbrook (Newport) to Alum Bay.
