Story

On the 7th July I'm taking part in a triathlon with a whole bunch of super keeno triathlon-types. Yikes. Admittedly I'm only doing the cycling bit, but having not been on a bike for 8 years, that alone is enough of a stretch.  I've dusted down my old one and invested in some padded lycra, so it is serious stuff!

The aim is not only to finish the race (and be able to walk), but also raise money for the Royal Marsden Hospital under the banner of George & the Giant Pledge. This is a charity close to Googlers hearts as a close colleague of ours Vicki's son George has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and has been undergoing treatment from the incredible doctors and nurses this year.

Vicki initially set a fundraising target of £100K which was smashed within 3 weeks, so we're all now gunning for the £1 million mark by the end of this year.

I know that everyone gets hounded all the time for fundraising requests, but this is truly a cause that touches every man, woman or child. I've set a target of £2,000 and Google will match all the contributions which would be a whopping £4,000 for the Royal Marsden.

Many thanks in advance, Alison x
