My father was a retired Merchant Navy Seaman. Following a stroke and brain haemorrhage in 2018, his life changed dramatically. He became increasingly housebound and reliant upon carers. This was very challenging for him emotionally... A member of Legion Scotland-Elliott Thompson- befriended dad , making the commitment to visit him regularly at home. Elliott's support and friendship to dad was greatly appreciated by both dad and our family as a whole. Legion Scotland honours the commitment given by retired servicemen by providing valuable support at a vulnerable time in their lives.

Sadly my dad passed away just recently on 22nd September. I would like to pay tribute to his life, the lives of retired servicemen and the tremendous work of Legion Scotland by endeavouring to raise some funds to support the work of this very worthwhile charity. Although dad is no longer with us, many other retired servicemen still are and they could benefit greatly from the sterling work of this wonderful charity.
