We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. The specialist support, research and campaigning provided by the Stroke Association are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you,  more lives can be rebuilt.

At 25 Ali had a stroke and spent many months learning to walk and speak again. The impact was not just physical but emotional, it took time to recover and it took time to accept this had happened to a fairly fit woman.

The consultant said that fitness had played a massive part in the recovery and then the resolve to get fit and stay fit became embedded.

This event will push us to another level - but the joy of completing the event on Anglesey where Ali was lucky enough to grow up is an extra impetus.
