Paws for Claws - Dogs Saving Cats
Human expansion has reduced cheetah habitat by 91%. The majority of remaining cheetah populations have been forced onto unprotected farmland - putting them under constant threat of conflict with livestock and farmers. For rural subsistence farmers, even the loss of one animal can be financially devastating. To protect their livestock and livelihoods, farmers often retaliate in the only way they know how - by trapping, shooting or killing cheetahs.
Human-wildlife conflict (HWC) has reached crisis levels in some parts of the cheetah's range, pushing the species towards extinction. But CCF has the solution!
Having a CCF livestock guarding dog is life changing for farmers. So we are raising funds to increase the scale and impact of the programme. I am taking part in Paws for Claws - and going walkies for cheetahs - from 1st to 17th October. All funds raised will support
the expansion of the livestock guarding dog programme.
By #UnitingForCheetahs we can secure their future, and that of all those who the landscape.
