Story

My work colleagues and I are raising money for Chestnut Tree House in memory of Lola, the brave daughter of Simon who lost her fight with cancer at the age of just 15.  Here are a few words from Lola's dad....

I want to thank Team Lollipop for their awesome efforts in fundraising and defying gravity in 2023!

Chestnut Tree House nurses supported our teenage daughter Lola
during her palliative care at home, and then provided advice, information, support and accommodation to our family immediately after Lola’s death in 2021. We are incredibly grateful for the respite available to us during this very difficult period, and we are thankful to have had access to such an important facility during such challenging times.

When Lola died, we were in a state of shock, and the kind,
thoughtful and caring way in which we were looked after will always stay with us. We were given the chance to say goodbye to Lola in our own time, and to create some important memories and keepsakes that will stay with us forever.

In the weeks and months following Lola’s death, we have been able to
receive therapy and counselling for our grief, also from Chestnut.

Please support my friends and colleagues who are bravely giving their time, and raising money to ensure that others who need help and guidance can continue to benefit from the amazing facilities,
staff and support that Chestnut Tree House offers.

Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care and community support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. There are hundreds of children and young people in your local community who are unlikely to reach adulthood. And even more parents and family members who need care, help and support on their journey, as they don't know how long they will have together. Your support helps families to spend time together. Precious moments that give a lifetime of memories.
