Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On 11th June I have pledged to swim one mile of Lake Windermere with The Great North Swim in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
In February 2022, a very dear friend and colleague, Dawn Bailey, tragically passed away to cancer in St Cuthbert's Hospice. Dawn was such a beautiful soul, so full of life and with so much to live for - she was taken far too soon. In the past year, two of my friends and colleagues at ARCH Recovery College have also been diagnosed and are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Their courage, spirit and resilience are truly inspirational and Kay's wicked sense of humour throughout her treatment has brought laughter and humour to what are undoubtedly such challenging of times.
All three wonderful ladies will be at the forefront of my mind and in my thoughts when the day of the challenge finally arrives and will, I have no doubt, spur me on to the finishing line.
Thank you for supporting my fundraising for Macmillan. However much you can spare to help me reach my target will be so greatly appreciated, and particularly when we find ourselves in such challenging financial times.
