Martin and I are taking part in the Great North Swim in June and we'd be very grateful if you would consider donating a small amount to Doncaster Mind.
I've always found swimming to be the best way to boost my mental health - the calm, cold water in the lake or sea make me forget all my cares and troubles. So I decided for my 50th year to challenge myself and complete the Marathon distance at The Great North Swim! Clearly completely bonkers as well, Martin decided to join me and enter the 2 mile distance.
The last few years have been tough for everyone and not everyone is as lucky as me to have a sport they can immerse themselves in to de-stress.
Doncaster Mind is an independent local charity, providing high quality mental health services in Doncaster and its surrounding area.
"We believe that no one should have to face a mental health difficulty alone. Whether you are stressed, anxious, depressed or in a crisis, we’re here to listen and offer support. We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health difficulty gets the support they need and deserve."
Doncaster Mind are a locally funded charity who provide help and support for a myriad of mental health problems. They are overwhelmed by Doncaster people needing their help currently and can only continue their services by charitable donations.
