Story
Charlie was my partners grandad. He fought bravely against Alzheimer's for over 7 years. He was diagnosed just before I had the pleasure off meeting him, (He taught me how to wash dishes properly.) but he quickly became someone I regarded as I friend. A friend who I admired, respected and loved. His devotion to his wife and family was truly inspirational.
Now that he has passed, I feel I have a better understanding off his battle, because now we are left with only our memories. These memories bring a smile on my face, a glow in my heart, yet a tear on my cheek. I guess the importance of memory and memories has been brought to the forefront of my mind.
If in raising money by doing the "memory walk" , I can in some small way, contribute to the understanding of Alzheimer's, and I'm able to do that whilst remembering that cheeky chappy, adored by so many, then I am happy to take that opportunity.
I am priveledged and proud to say Charlie Coxon was part of my life and family.
Please, just give what you can.
Thank you.
