Story
Breast cancer entered my life at just 14 years old when my Mum received her primary diagnoses. Sadly 5 years later she died of secondary Breast cancer in her liver and I miss her every day. In 2020 just before my 50th Birthday I received the devastating news that I had stage 2 HER2 + Breast cancer and underwent 20 cycles of chemotherapy pre and post surgery and radiotherapy. My treatment was gruelling but I am forever grateful for the care and treatment I received & currently there is no evidence of disease on my mammograms. Sadly so many of my friends have also had Breast cancer diagnose and Without charities like prevent many more lives would be lost. I am running my first Marathon in my home city and want to run this in memory of my brave and loving Mum who I know will be with me in spirit every step of the way. Please give what you can as I know funds are tight for all right now.
Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. Being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
