Update: September 11th 2022
Ali completed the Great North Run, and ticked it off her bucket list, in an amazing time of 2hours 20mins. There’s just 3 weeks to go now until Chester. Eeek! 😬
So then first of all thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. In case you didn’t know Ali is running the Great North Run in September before both of us run* the Chester Marathon at the beginning of October. That’s just the small matter of 26.2 miles which will be our longest race to date and first time taking on a marathon.
*more likely walk/crawl
Why are we doing this I hear you ask? Well apart from delighting in the physical and mental challenge we have decided to run it to raise money for the charity Epilepsy Action.
As most of you know our son, Finn, has had two seizures - the first a year ago in August 2021, followed by a second one earlier this year in April.
We have been given a suspected diagnosis of Benign Focal epilepsy and whilst we painstakingly battle to confirm this for Finn, the charity have been fantastic with us. Not just by supporting us a family but by providing useful information and access to support groups as we work to discover exactly what this means for Finn and how it will affect him in the future.
What we would really like you to do is sponsor us and so if you could spare anything at all, no matter how little, it will spur us on to complete the marathon (and the GNR for Ali) whilst raising vital funds for Epilepsy Action.
Thank you so much, your support and generosity means a lot to both of us.
Ali & Rich
