Story
On the 31st August, I am taking on the challenge of walking 18 miles along the Welsh coastline from Aberystwyth to Aberaeron to raise money towards Children with Cancer UK.
For those of you that don’t know, my friends 5 year old son Harri is in remission for Cancer. He was diagnosed in January 2018, after a CT scan revealed a large tumour inside his sinus cavity. The cancer he had was quite rare (Ewing’s Sarcoma), and therefore the chemo drugs he had to have were very old and harsh. I am on a mission to raise awareness of childhood cancer, and the need for more funding for research. Only a very small portion of money from Cancer Research charities goes towards research for children (but the work they have done for adult cancer is amazing! 100’s of new kinder drugs.) We need that for children now!
This beautiful but challenging walk will raise money for Children with Cancer UK, the leading national children’s charity, dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. You can read more about them here - https://www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk
The walk will start in Aberystwyth, and finish in Aberaeron the same day (18 miles), stopping for lunch and a bit of a rest halfway! We would like to get as many people signed up as possible to join us so pleas consider joining us too!
