We fund research to stop prostate cancer killing men

Story

We are fundraising for this cause as it is very close to our hearts. My dad Barry Field was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 prostate cancer in August 2016 after having no symptoms. Just 14 weeks later he sadly passed away aged 72. He was very active and healthy up until this point, attending well man clinics. However he was never offered a simple PSA blood test which could have helped to screen and diagnose the cancer earlier.

Myself, Kate Meakin and Paul Hudson (Yorkshire's celebrity weatherman) will be walking the Yorkshire three peak challenge on Saturday 8th July 2017. My mum Linda and Hannah Barley will also be joining us along the way. Anyone who knows us well will know this is a massive challenge as walking the stairs at work can sometimes be a struggle haha :-) We hope that you will support and encourage us in raising money for this valuable cause as it could affect your loved ones.

If you have read this far, you should be aware that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, affecting 1 in 8 at some point in their life. For more information visit www.prostatecanceruk.org.
