Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Hi Everyone,
I've set this page up in memory of my Gran Jean Cook and her twin sister my Great Auntie Ada. Both lived to a good age, early 90's, however unfortunately in their last few years of life, we watched them both living with vascular dementia. If anyone has seen a family member living with dementia it's such a sad disease, it steals the person who you love. Their body is still there but nearly most of what makes them who they are is gone, but they can still love, and feel, and laugh. It can't steal everything. We are raising money for the Alzheimer's Society in their name/memory. This page is mainly for family or friends who would like to donate in their name just because. I've set this particular page up as it's coming round to their birthday October 21st 2019 would have been their 98th birthday. I think they would like a donation to be made in their name. We don't have them here to treat them personally so we can donate and help the Alzheimer's Society support those people living with dementia and their families and to one day hopefully sooner rather than later find a cure. So others can live life free from dementia.
Many Thanks to anyone who donates. This page will not have a closing date, as their birthdays and Christmas etc will come round every year. So feel free to donate any time. If I do any particular fundraising event/activity for the Alzheimer's Society I will create another page for that.
P.S. Just a little side note the picture of them is from their younger days, back during WW2 when they served in the ATS they are the 2 smallest ladies with big smiles on the photo, don't know who their friends are. They loved their army days. You can tell that from how happy they look on the pic.
