We are asking for donations in place of flowers for Ilse's funeral and we have identified a cause that was close to her heart.

Ilse was passionate about education and through her memory we would like to support two schools in Mozambique, the Aurelio Manave Primary school and the Cathedral Secondary School. At present Twyford Academies Trust are supporting the education of 30 orphans through these schools in the Diocese of Maciene, Mozambique. The support includes providing uniforms, the funding of books and resources as well as whatever fees are required to be paid. The sponsorship lasts for 5 years although they are considering funding higher educational opportunities. 

We believe that money raised in Ilse's memory will directly impact the lives of young people at the two schools in Mozambique, and continue the legacy of the importance of education which she left to her daughters, her friends, and the colleagues at the many institutions she had links with including Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge and University College London.
