Max’s 5k bike ride for Group B Strep · 25 July 2018

Group B Strep is the leading cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies, causing sepsis, pneumonia and meningitis. Help raise awareness to protect babies from this preventable infection.

Story

Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. On average in the UK, at least-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection -one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities – physical, mental or both.Yet most group B Strep infections are preventable. Group B Strep Support informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.

Max has decided after talking to him about how we can raise money for charities that he wants to do so himself, so we came up with a great idea of him doing (what he loves best) to ride his bike 5k in one day... he remembers how poorly his baby sister was and understands how anybody donating to the charity could help with raising awareness and helping save more babies lives. Just a couple of pounds would make him very happy, thank you all!
