Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Edinburgh marathon in May for The Scottish Association for Mental Health, and in memory of Holly Enston, who tragically took her own life in September at the age of 20. I taught Holly at primary school, and now teach her younger brother. Her parents and three brothers have been left devastated by her death, and all of us at school who knew and taught Holly have been absolutely shocked by the news that this hardworking and intelligent girl with her whole life ahead of her, felt that she could not carry on. She always put a lot of pressure on herself to be the best, and in the end it became too much, as is the case with so many young people. The charity and what it does is close to my heart, but running this marathon for Holly makes it relevant and personal. If the money raised can give even one person the support they need to prevent a tragedy like this happening, then it will have been worthwhile. This is also for all of us who suffer, or have loved ones who suffer, from any form of mental illness. The money raised will help support and educate all of us for whom life can be a struggle. Hopefully, it will also do a bit towards easing the suffering of Holly's family. Thank you all in advance for your support, it means a lot!! Xxx
