Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

I love this picture, its one of my favourites, my son George with his best mate Louis, celebrating a well deserved goal.

I would just like to spend a little time to tell you about Louis and his lovely family, Sian and Kevin are very dear friends of mine, they are such nice people, they would do anything for anyone.  As well as Louis they have an older son James and we can't forget Harvey the dog.

I can honestly say that Louis is one of the nicest children I know, he is always so polite thoughtful and caring, and we love having him to sleepover at our house.

Unfortunately Louis has been very poorly this year and on George's birthday was diagnosed with having a brain tumor.  Louis was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital where they operated on him to remove the fluid from around his brain.

Once Louis had recovered from this operation and was a bit stronger he had a major eight hour operation to remove the tumor, the surgery went well and the surgeon advised that 99.9% of the tumor was removed.  Sian and Kevin were  then told that the tumour Louis had was a very aggressive malignant tumor and that unfortunately some small particles (metastasis) broke away and travelled to the base of his spine, this means that Louis will have to have a course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy which will make him even more poorly and he may well be in hospital for another 3 - 9 months.

Sian and Kevin have told me that John Radcliffe Hospital has been fantastic, the children's hospital offer parents and children so much help and support, it really does make a difference, they offer rooms for family's to stay in where they have access to a kitchen and showers so they can be close to their children all the time, as a mother I can understand that being together as a family is very important at such a stressful time.

With this in mind, I would like to give something back, to help, not only my friends, but all the families that need the support that John Radcliffe give when caring for a sick child.  I can think of nothing more worth while than helping support them through the most traumatic time of their life.

So Kevin and I are going to Abseil down the side of John Radcliffe Hospital and raise as much money as we can, we really would appreciate it if you could spare, even a couple of pounds for this very worth while cause, every penny helps and hopefully you will help us reach our goal.

Thank you in advance.
