The Raid Local Challenge: Distance: 137km Elevation: 3,700m
We are taking on the "Raid Local" on 28th June for The Cure Parkinson's Trust because CPT supports much needed research into treatments that have the potential to slow, stop or reverse Parkinson's. Until an effective treatment is found, Parkinson's will continue to debilitate and devastate the lives of millions of people living with the condition and those who care for them.
Following a diagnosis of Young Onset Parkinson's, Alison and a group of friends started cycling together and became known as 'The Cyclopaths'. They have since taken on a number of cycle challenges to raise funds for CPT. The Cyclopaths continue to cycle together and welcome a few new 'Cyclopaths' who are joining them to take part in this challenge.
Cycling 137km in one day is demanding in itself but add in 3,700m of hill climbs (almost four times the height of Scafel Pike, the highest mountain in England) and this is what makes this such a monster challenge. The Cyclopaths have been trained extremely hard over recent months and look forward to the challenge with equal amounts of excitement and trepidation!
Thank you from all of us for your interest, your generousity and your support.
