Story
Not long to go now until the big day!
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Alison.......It's my 40th birthday this year and couldn't think of a better way to mark the occasion than by taking part in the London Marathon.......My first ever full marathon. I know the training will be hard work but I know it is for an excellent charity....... I would really appreciate your support with our fundraising appeal x
Amy.......In 2010 I completed the London Marathon raising £2700 for Loros (with the fantastic support from my family and friends). I really enjoyed the experience, training and fundraising and looking forward to taking on the challenge again in 2013 for Menphys. This time I will be running with my Sister.
Menphys was founded in 1969 to support children and young people with disabilities and their families – our work is just as necessary and important today.
Menphys provides a range of services, some of them in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, Leicester City Council and Rutland County Council:
Menphys supports and enhances the provision at specialist nurseries in Wigston and Burbage.
The Menphys Special Outreach Service supports children and young people aged 0 – 19 and their families.
The Buddy Scheme offers friendship and activities to children and young people whilst providing a short break for parents/carers.
Supports Saturday clubs offering a wide range of sport and leisure activities in conjunction with Menphys Sport, Play and Leisure.
MENPHYS NEEDS TO RAISE £500,000 EACH YEAR TO MAINTAIN AND DEVELOP THIS WORK.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and help us raise money for Menphys to continue this important work.
