Story

I am setting myself a goal for 2021 to run the Great North Run which is 13 miles, I have never done any running before but I am excited to see how far I can push myself and help me to have a more positive mind, which I have struggled with recently.

I still cant believe its been 3 years the 22nd September since losing my mum Sandra forever. I never thought about losing my mum ever. She was rushed into hospital with breathing difficulties and went into respiratory failure and due to her Muscular Dystrophy there was nothing else they could do to save her. Having to say goodbye to my mum whilst they turned off the oxygen at 20 years old I will never understand why life is so unfair, she was only 51 and had so much love, she was so generous and caring and amazing, she made me promise I would look after my sister Alannah who also has Muscular Dystrophy.

My mum would have wanted nothing more but to see my sister Alannah healthy and well and to help other people with Muscular Dystrophy.

I cant tell you enough how proud I am of Alannah my sister who is 26. She struggles on a daily basis with muscular dystrophy but over the last year I can see a major difference, not only is she overcoming her anxiety but her peg feed she has every night has made her the ideal weight she needs to be. She never ever fails to support and help me out, I don't know what I would do without her and it upsets me writing this.

I wont break my promise to my mum to look after her daughter Alannah and will make her proud.

I already feel running helps me keep motivated throughout the week which really helps with my mental health. My new motive!! 🏃‍♀️ I am struggling a lot with it and feel like I am very unhealthy but I am not giving up and will do you all proud and the charity.

I will be very grateful for any donations no matter how small, every penny will go towards finding a cure and helping the people who suffer with MD. I will be organising events throughout the year to help raise money so keep updated with me.
