I know everyone receives loads of information regarding sponsored events so I apologise for bothering you but I have never done one before and I feel that this is a worthy local cause so I hope you keep reading.
I am afraid I am not doing any of the following events:
I am NOT cycling across Antarctica on a unicycle.
I am NOT sitting in a bath of baked beans for a week.
I am NOT hiking to Timbuktu with an Alpaca.
I am NOT knitting non-stop for 48 hours.
I am NOT doing any surveying!
BUT....I am doing a 10km run around Sidmouth to raise funds for Newton Poppleford Primary School with 17 other parents and teachers. We'll be starting on the Esplanade at 9.30am and hopefully finishing in the same place not too long afterwards! We are aiming to raise £1000 between us as our contribution to our school's bigger £10,000 fund raising challenge. Please consider sponsoring me and, if you can, come and support us on the Esplanade on 24th March.
Newton Poppleford Primary School is currently being re-built and although the Government is funding the actual building cost of our new school they are not paying for anything else. We need to buy staging, lighting, playground equipment, more chairs and furniture, shelter, shading, sports hall equipment, notice boards, signage and much much more. Every £ helps, every fundraising initiative contributes. Together we can make our children's future school experience brighter.
I do not expect anything...but if a few of my Facebook friends just pledged the minimum donation of £2 (20p per kilometre) then it would certainly make my run more purposeful! I would be happy to accept smaller donations in cash – it all helps!
