On 18th May 2024 I will be taking part in the Trek26 (13 miles) walk for the Alzheimer’s society in recognition of my beloved grandad and his battle with dementia.

My grandad, Fred, has always been the anchor of our family. His warm smile and loving nature have touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. However, over the past few years, we have witnessed the gradual erosion of his memories and the challenges brought on by dementia.

Despite the difficulties he faces, my grandad's spirit remains unyielding. He continues to radiate love and joy whenever we gather as a family. We have learned to cherish every precious moment we have with him, knowing that each memory we create together becomes a treasure to hold onto in the future.
