Story
Hi All
I completed the race on Sunday in 1:30:33 and came 5757th other of 25,000 runners. I was really pleased, especially given the adverse weather conditions (the last 2 miles running into 50pm winds along the coast was not fun!).
Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me. Your words of encouragement really spurred me on, especially during the last few miles when I really wanted to stop! Your donations will help provide over 17 hours of valuable nursing care.
Thank you

Hello and thanks for visiting my fundraising page
I said I was going to do the Great South Run this time last year but "accidentally" forgot to sign up. As penance I stood on the freezing sea front for a good couple of hours cheering on my boyfriend and friends until my feet went numb. By the end I was tempted to duck under the barriers and join in just to warm up! Seriously though, experiencing the atmosphere and seeing their sense of a achievement at the end made me vow to sign up the following year so here I am, no excuses this time!
I am raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, the fantastic charity I work for. Marie Curie is dedicated to caring for people with all terminal illnesses, providing free, practical care and emotional support at home or in one of their hospices.
Despite running fairly regularly to keep fit, this is my first official race since doing athletics at school and definitely the farthest distance I've ever attempted. It would be wonderful if you were able to chuck a little sponsorship my way to spur me on and support this very worthy cause.
Thanks in advance
Alicia
