Story
I'm Alice and I'm passionate about breast cancer awareness and checking to spot the signs as early as possible.
10 years ago my sister Marianne was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment. Since then my other sister Nicole and my mum have also been diagnosed with breast cancer and have had challenging treatment.
While cancer isn't something we can always avoid - being prepared, checking when something isn't our normal, and catching it at the earliest possible stage will give us the best chance of living the life we want to live.
Sadly lots of people don't know the signs of breast cancer or how to check, so cancer is detected and diagnosed late. CoppaFeel aims to stamp out late diagnosis by ensuring young people regularly check their boobs or pecs. This means they'll have the confidence to see their GP if something doesn't feel normal.
I'm so excited to complete these 4 runs and raise money for CoppaFeel. To find out more about their amazing work head to www.coppafeel.org
My challenge takes place over each weekend in September:
* First race is the Saint’s Way Challenge. Running 45kms from Padstow on the north coast of Cornwall to Fowey on the South Coast.
* Second Race is Newcastle’s iconic half marathon the Great North Run, my dad and I will be running together.
* Third race is in Scotland, Loch Eilde Mòr 10km. This may only be 10km in length but it’s all on trails and up mountains. I hope my knees hold up!
* Fourth race is the Great Bristol Run, 10km. I’ll be running with dad again both in tutus. It will be a great atmosphere.
Any donation will really keep me going through the miles. Thank you so much for your support xxx
