Alice Plunkett rides at The Cheltenham Festival

CRUK - The St Patricks Day Derby at Cheltenham Racecourse · 17 March 2011 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit Alice Plunkett's JustGiving page.
Alice, alongside Alistair Down, is the face of Channel 4’s Jump Racing and to date remains the only woman to have ridden around both Badminton CCI**** and the Grand National course at Aintree.
Now a regular presenter on Channel 4 Alice is married to International Three-Day Event rider William Fox-Pitt, has two young boys (Oliver, 5 and Thomas, 4) and gave up competitive riding in 2000.
Although Alice’s riding these days is confined mainly to the hunting field she remains fiercely competitive, and this year sees her dust off her racing kit to take part in the 2011 Cheltenham Festival St Patrick’s Day Charity Derby in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK is hugely deserving cause and one which sits close to Alice's heart after tracigally losing two sisters to cancer, both before the age of 30. www.eloiseandkatietrust.co.uk
The 1m 5f flat race will take place on Thursday 17th March 2011 at The Cheltenham Festival, with 12 amateur riders taking part, each rider having to raise a minimum of £5,000 to take part, and four-time Epsom Derby winning trainer Henry Cecil as guest of honour.
This is the second running of an event which in 2010, it's inaugural year, raised £150,000 for its chosen charity.
Alice has set herself the task of raising a minimum of £20,000 so please dig deep and donate now...lets help her meet her target!
