Story
When I applied directly to Movember in May for the London Marathon I never in a million years thought I would get one of the 12 charity places they hold. The sole reason I applied was because I wanted to carry on where our good pal Steven Robson left off before he passed away last year, and also as my grandfather had lived with prostate cancer for a long time. Every year at uni Steven would take part in Movember raising awareness for this wonderful charity, and raising a whole bunch of money in the process (whilst looking like someone you wouldn’t want to cross in a dark alley).
The older I get, the more it becomes apparent the need to talk about mens physical/mental health. It's not only my losses, but many others who have seen young men pass for a variety of reasons - and some of those possibly wouldn't have happened if they realised it really is ok to talk.
SO. I aim to plan a whole bunch of events and fundraising activities in the next 6 months to open this conversation further. If any gents wish to donate me their tashs for the month of Movember and use my fundraising link to earn some cash, please let me know and I’ll get you added onto this very page.
My grandfather has also since passed so I'm dedicating this entirely both to Steven and him. Gyal’s got £2.5k to raise, so dig deep kids! Hoping some of that free guestlist I've dished out over the years warrants a tenner or so.
Love you all.
