Story
Giles Duley is my Uncle. He is a freelance photographer specialising in humanitarian issues.
Giles was seriously injured by a roadside blast while embedded with the US Army in Southern Afghanistan on 7 February 2011, resulting in the loss of three limbs. He is now in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for ongoing medical care. The 'Giles Duley Fund' has been set up to support the rehabilitation, care and long term assistance and improvement of quality of life for Giles.
After weeks of overcoming a severe lung condition that is a result of his injuries, Giles is becoming stronger and increasing his rate of recovery. He is a true inspiration, showing immense strength and bravery.
To help raise money for Giles I am taking part in the Torbay Half Marathon on 19th June 2011. My aim is to run the full 13.1 miles within 2 hours - however I am a little slow at the moment!
