Story
In April 2024 I will be running the London marathon to raise money and awareness for the charity Leukaemia Care. Leukaemia Care is a charity extremely close to my heart ever since my dad was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia three years ago.
Although this journey has been heartbreaking for all of my family, I think it is important to highlight how much worse it would be without the constant support and care we are given. In light of this, I will be running the marathon for Leukaemia Care to support current and future families going through similar circumstances.
With the abundance of chemotherapy, hospital visits, blood transfusions, biopsies and transplants, a leukaemia journey can seem hopeless. Leukaemia Care aims to bring a little more light into this journey. The charity ensures that families and individuals receive the correct information, advice and support along the whole way. With around 34,000 people affected by blood cancer each year this aid is vital.
Through our experiences, my family has proven to be my biggest inspiration. A full recovery for Dad is still a way off, but I am so so proud of the strength and determination he battles with. Let’s hope I have a fraction of that determination for mile 26 (eeek) !
All donations are massively appreciated no matter how small. Thank you in advance <3
