Redthread is a dynamic youth work charity whose vision is a society in which all young people lead healthy, safe and happy lives. Our mission is to empower young people to thrive by integrating trauma-informed youth work into hospitals.

Story

In less than a month I will be running my very first half marathon! It turns out 13 miles is a lot longer than a couple of glasses of wine convinced me it would be when I so confidently signed up.... But all the sweat, tumbles and early mornings will be worth it to raise money for Redthread's incredible work. By placing youth workers in A&E departments, they provide vital support for young people rushed to hospital as victims of youth violence, domestic abuse or exploitation.  I'm lucky enough to see the inspirational work Redthread's youth workers do daily; last year, they supported over 1,200 young people to break out of cycles of violence and lead safe, happy lives.

Redthread's work is needed now more than ever: London is on track to have its worst year of youth killings on record. Covid-19 has worsened the disadvantages faced by young people at risk of violence and led to cuts to vital youth services - leaving young people even more vulnerable to violence and exploitation.

I'm selling some of my clothes online to raise money, but it would be amazing if you're able to help me reach my £250 target! Every penny will help Redthread to support even more young people to thrive, no matter what their circumstances. Thank you!
