Story
Having had to drop out of running last year, I am back and raring to go!
I have faced much more adversity during my training this year than I could have ever expected, (when writing the below message last year) having had to move to 'Grim'sby. Having said that I have, as of yet, managed to stay injury free although, I tend to end up in the hospital one way or the other....
All of the donations made for last year have been carried over for this year, but I am still short of my target!
I am raising money for disability law service.
(Un)Fortunately, I don’t have any inspirational stories to write about here to encourage you all to sponsor me. I am lucky enough to have never faced any great adversity...but that’s all about to change! Over the next 6 months I will increasingly suffer from blisters and cramps (as well as losing some toenails) leading up to 26 miles of burning agony in April. Yes, I am running the London marathon!
During my time so far studying medicine, I’ve learnt a huge amount about the issues and barriers faced by the 11 million people with disabilities in the UK. They are far too often unlawfully denied care or have taken it away. This is care which they simply can not do without. At best, this results in them living in unacceptable situations and often there are more abhorrent consequences. Disability law service provides advice and representation to some of the most vulnerable people in society. DLS is an amazing charity, without them thousands of people with disabilities would go without essential support every year. Please help me raise £1500 for them.
