On 1st September I am taking on the Aspire Channel Swim 2019, swimming the distance of the English Channel - 22 miles!  Instead of swimming the total distance in 12 weeks, I have given myself a personal target to swim it in 4 weeks.  For anyone that knows me, my life at home with kids, horses, dogs etc is manic, and so for me to even find the time to get in the pool to swim a mile (64 lengths) nearly every day, is going to be a challenge in itself!  I love to dip my toe in the water from time to time but am in no way an endurance swimmer.  This will be my most consistent time in the pool and the longest I have swam in a month, ever!

I have been inspired to swim for Aspire in particular as I personally know someone who suffered a spinal injury last year.  Every four hours someone is paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury and Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice and housing that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently. This is a big challenge, but the more I raise, the more of a difference I'll make, so please be generous!
