I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in April 2022. My cancer was caught early, purely by chance, after I had a scan for an unrelated issue. Kidney cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK and, like my situation, is often only detected by tests for unrelated issues due to there being few obvious symptoms initially. 

I feel very lucky to have had my cancer detected early and for me to be able to have surgery to remove my kidney. But I know that not everyone will be as lucky as me to catch the cancer before it spreads to other organs when symptoms may be more noticeable but harder to treat. 

My sister Hannah and I would love to raise money for Kidney Cancer UK, by walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Any money raised will support Kidney Cancer UK in their amazing work and research into the disease. 24.5 miles is a heck of a trek for us both as novice walkers at best!
