Story
On the 2nd April 2023 Bodhi and Peggy will turn 3. Three years ago when I gave birth almost 17 weeks prematurely all the odds were stacked against them. The medical intervention and care that Bodhi and Peggy received was second to none, sadly some babies are not as lucky.
I am therefore taking up the challenge of climbing a mountain again, but before that I am going to run (that might be a bit ambitious...) the Brighton 10K on B&P's birthday. Spending 5 months in hospital, watching and waiting for my babies to make it felt like an unachievable task at the time, but we did it so surely this will be a breeze....
Then on Saturday 24th June, with some lovely friends and family, I will be taking on Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, with Bliss fundraising for 8 other charities as part of their collective Big Steps for Small Feet trek. The funds I raise will be going to Bliss - the leading charity in the UK for babies born premature or sick. Over 300 babies are admitted to UK neonatal units every day. Bliss works to help all those babies have the best chance of survival and quality of life. They provide information and emotional support to families, training for healthcare professionals, support life changing research and campaign for better bereavement care and support.
