When I had Edward in March I required a hospital stay. Edward was born very quickly and was the perfect little bundle however, a few hours after the birth I felt unwell. Unfortunately I had retained some of my placenta which was causing a build up of blood clots inside my uterus. 

I ended up in theatre having these removed but in the process I lost 2 litres of blood and had a reaction to one of the drugs they used for the General Aesthetic. My blood pressure and pulse dropped very low and my body took longer than expected to react to the drugs used to help bring them back up. Once out of theatre I required a blood transfusion to try and replenish the blood I had lost. 

Without the amazing care of the midwives especially Naomi and the doctors, anaesthetists, theatre staff and all those who looked after me it could have been a very different outcome. I am forever grateful for the care they all provided for me while I was in hospital.
