Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are taking part in 'The Nuts Challenge' which is a 7k run through lots of muddy obstacles. The reason we are doing this is for an amazing cause!
There is a happy, cheeky, little boy Harry, who attends the school that Alice teaches at. He was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2013. Sadly, by the time Harry reaches his 10th birthday it is likely he will be in a wheelchair and his upper body will then begin to shut down due to this rare and painful condition leaving him locked inside his own body. As a muscular degenerative disease eventually his heart and lungs will fail, almost certainly before he is 30. There is no cure, it will happen and it is 100% fatal.
The good news is that there is currently a large amount of research taking place in the UK and abroad - so we can make a difference!
Harry's mum and dad are an inspiration, they focus a lot of energy on raising awareness and money for this charity - for more information visit http://www.help4harry.co.uk
Thank you for your support - it is greatly appreciated and will give us some motivation to wade through the mud!
