I am Heart Failure Specialist Nurse at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. I care for patients with a diagnosis of heart failure; where the pumping function of the heart is reduced. Alongside my colleagues, I look after patients in clinics and on the ward. We provide active treatment, support and education for patients and their families. I’m also training to do echocardiograms- heart ultrasounds, which is fascinating and a brilliant enhancement of my role.

I am passionate about my job and the patients I care for. The Trust’s charitable fund supports us in raising money for vital equipment and patient services that could not exist otherwise and most importantly, enhances the patient experience during their treatment.

Specifically in cardiology, there has been funding for a new portable cardiovascular ultrasound system, as well as funding support in research programmes. Read more about the charity's fantastic work:

This will be my 9th marathon and my 3rd time doing the London Marathon. I love the challenge of this distance and there really is nothing like the atmosphere in London on race day. I am very excited to be running this year!
