Mum is  now 86 and last year (2013) she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's which is a progressive disease.  I didn't know that Dementia and loss of memory is not something that happens just because we get old. Dementia is a disease and can happened at any age. If caught early enough the quality of life can be drastically improved. For my Mum we didn't recognised the disease until it became obvious.

I am walking with Andi Blackmore, Charles Allen and Teresa Ogogo as 'Walk the Journey 2014 Ben Nevis Team'.  We look forward to creating special memories for us as a team but also to raise awareness to the disease and to encourage more people to become Dementia Friends. https://www.dementiafriends.org.uk/
