Story

So in a matter of weeks I’ll be heading home to the Emerald isle to take on my first marathon in Dublin on the 26th October.

We all have our own personal challenges, they are all relative and I can honestly say I never thought I’d become part of that group of crazy people who think running 26 miles is a good idea – but here I am!

Then out of the blue, one day during a typical session at my gym, I found out that my sports massage therapist who has been helping me and my “grotty hamstrings” throughout my training so far is actually fighting blindness… my challenge suddenly became a lot less challenging in the grand scheme of things!

In the face of a prognosis that he will be registered blind between 30 and 40, Rob Sears will be stepping up to compete in his first ever Ironman challenge on his 35th birthday. Now that’s pretty damn awesome!! I would like to contribute whatever I can raise through my marathon efforts to his cause, raising awareness and funds for ‘RP Fighting Blindness’.

All donations generated on this page will go directly to Rob's target. To learn more about Rob’s journey, so far and to come, just follow this link https://www.justgiving.com/RobIMUK2016/

Thank you so much and wish me luck (or pray that Ryanair install recliners in their aeroplanes for my flight back ha)

Alice.
