Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Doing a skydive isn’t necessarily on my “To do list” but helping my beautiful happy Goddaughter Esme most definitely is!
In fact, it is top of the list!
Esme has been diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy- So far she hasn’t let this stop her- she is a lively 2 year old who loves to sing and dance and gets around at great speed on her walker and is currently braving new support sticks too! But the painful spasticity affecting Esme’s legs will cause muscle shortening, bone deformities and Esme faces her future in a wheelchair.
This isn’t the life Esme was destined for, she wants to walk and we will do all we can to help her.
There is no cure for Cerebral Palsy, but Esme could have a life changing operation known as SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy). This is the only surgical procedure which will give Esme the chance to walk unaided and pain free but it is not available on the NHS at the moment and if this dies become available Esme will still need expensive private physio to support her rehabilitation. To give Esme the best possible chance of independence we need to raise £50,000 through Just4Children.
I feel so honoured to be this little girl’s Godmother and my love and pride for her daily determination is overwhelming- The fear I feel about jumping out of a plane pales into insignificance- If you can help us make a significant change to Esme’s life please donate- big or small, your support will be appreciated and help our little girl to step into a pain free and independent future.
All of the money raised will go towards surgery for Esme and her rehabilitation
afterwards.
Thank you for making Esme’s dream of stepping with no pain and no aids come true.
